eithics in psychology

okay so after i watched all three of the videos for the ethics in psychology essay i was kinda shocked on how they did studys at one time. WOW is all i can really say. well let me take that back two of the studys i did enjoy watching and finding out what the resultes on them. so two that i enjoyed watching were the blue eyes and brown eyes and the milgram experiment. to me both of these were GREAT studys and had some very good and true results. yes i know the blue eyes and brown eyes was kinda of mean but it showed to children that you shouldn't judge someone based on color. which i think was awesome for them to learn and they really got to see how people are treated different soloely on color or being different for whatever reason. i believe all of those children in that classroom really learn a GREAT lesson in life. the result on this study were great and so true. children in the class stopped talking to each other based on the silly reasons and even started to fight even though they were best friends. yes, i know some people would say this study did more harm then good but i dont agree with that at all. i believe those children learn a GREAT life lesson and hopefully take that with them for the rest of their life. the other study i really enjoy was the milgram study. i differenlty learmed something about myself as well while just watching this study. i hate to say this but i wouldnt of asked those people on the ground if they needed help or if they were okay either. i know this is TOTALLY wrong of me but i agree with the study that we do judge people based on how they are dressed and or carry themselves. i do now look at this whole helping or asking someone if they need help in a total different way now. i but myself in their shoes and if someone had taken my wallet i would hope if that happened to me that the person behind me would say something to me or the person that is stealing from me. this was a great study to make you as a person to look at yourself and others when it comes to real life and how you would react in different situations.

Okay so after me caring on about how I felt on the videos when it comes to code of ethics there are 5 general principles and then there are ethical standards which are totally different from each other but both of them have to do with psychology and how things are studied within psychology. When it comes to general principles these rules aren't enforceable but more like goals to guide psychologist towards the right outcome. When it comes to ethical standards are enforceable reason which have to be followed. How this can relate to everyday life is because in society we have ethics in place which we must follow then there other things in everyday life which are in place for more like guide lines for us. Example human rights this has to do with ethics and it has to do with who has these rights and what these rights rights. Another example how we use ethics in everyday life when be some jobs have ethics which they most avoid conflicts of interest and sensitive to their jobs and what is required of them. After reading the first chapter of psychology I was pretty blow away by it. I never know all they different types of psychologist and what they really do or even study. To me psychology was always about the weird stuff and not all the pretty cool stuff they some psychologist really do. Like I never realized that there are so many different areas of study within psychology. In the first chapter they talk about the schools of psychology and there are 6 different classes. Which before this chapter I would of said there were like two schools not 6 of them. Then they also talk about mostly men being in the field of psychology until about 1861 which that women Mary Calkins made some good finding on the study of memory and self-concept. Yes, I know most men were doctors in the early times in the USA history , but now looking at psychology in today's world I would have to say more women are in the field. Most of the time when I watch movies or even hear a person or two talking about seeing a psychologist they always show women or say they saw a women so I was kind surprised that more women in history weren't psychologist. So far this first chapter has differently changed my mind set on this class isn't going to be easy because I'm going to have to think outside the box a little bit more. Differently going to enjoy this class and see a lot things in different ways.
